Introduction
Small passerine bird in the Old World flycicapidae that is endemic to Taiwan. Formerly considered a subspecies of the white-browed bush robin (Tarsiger indicus). Elevated to species status in 2022 based on phylogenetic analysis and differences in plumage and vocalizations. Monotypic species with no recognized subspecies.
Distribution & Habitat
Endemic to Taiwan, where it occurs in the mountains of central Taiwan.
Behavior & Ecology
Vocalizations differ from the closely related white-browed bush robin, which was one factor in its taxonomic elevation to species rank.
