Introduction

A species of parrotbill in the family Paradoxornithidae (though sometimes placed with Old World babblers in Timaliidae or in Sylviidae). Found in the northern regions of the Indian subcontinent, primarily in the central and eastern Himalayas, and in adjoining parts of Southeast Asia. Range includes Bhutan, India, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, Tibet, and Vietnam. Inhabits subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.

Distribution & Habitat

Occurs across the northern Indian subcontinent, including the central and eastern Himalayas. Range extends through Bhutan, India, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, Tibet, and Vietnam. Inhabits subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. Occurs at higher elevations in these mountain regions.
