Introduction
A passerine bird in the Old World babbler family Timaliidae. Inhabits subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests across Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, and Vietnam. Twelve subspecies are recognized.
Distribution & Habitat
Range extends across the Himalayan region including Nepal, Bhutan, and northeastern India, through Myanmar and Thailand to southern China, Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo, and the Malay Peninsula. Inhabits both lowland and montane tropical moist forests.
