Introduction

A bird species in the family Timaliidae. Found in Bhutan, China, India, and Myanmar. Inhabits subtropical or tropical moist montane forest. Populations show geographic variation, with three named subspecies: sherriffi from eastern Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh; indiraji from Arunachal Pradesh (Namdapha National Park); and souliei from northern Arunachal Pradesh, Myanmar, and southern China.

Distribution & Habitat

Range extends across Bhutan, China, India, and Myanmar. Inhabits subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. Subspecies are geographically separated: sherriffi in eastern Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh; indiraji in Namdapha National Park, Arunachal Pradesh; souliei in northern Arunachal Pradesh, Myanmar, and southern China.
