Introduction
Small passerine bird in the tit family Paridae. Endemic to Taiwan. Distinguished from the closely related varied tit by its deep chestnut-colored underparts. Promoted to species status in 2014 based on phylogenetic studies, having previously been classified as a subspecies of the varied tit since its description in 1863.
Identification
Very similar in appearance to the varied tit, but can be distinguished by its deep chestnut-colored underparts compared to the buff-colored underparts of the varied tit.
