Introduction
A passerine bird in the family Leiothrichidae, formerly placed in the genus Garrulax and moved to Pterorhinus following a 2018 molecular phylogenetic study. It inhabits subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.
Distribution & Habitat
Found mainly in the northern regions of the Indian subcontinent, primarily the Himalayas, and some adjoining and disjunct areas. Range includes Afghanistan, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Tibet, and Vietnam.
