Distribution
breeds on headlands and islands off northern North Island (New Zealand), especially Moutohora Island and Hongiora Island (Bay of Plenty); non-breeding range in deep subtropical water from Tasman Sea (off southeastern Australia) to southern Melanesian waters (southwestern Pacific Ocean)
