Introduction
A leaf warbler species found in Asia, specifically in Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, and Thailand. It feeds mostly on insects by gleaning and short sallies, preferring the canopy and low shrubbery.
Description
Possesses a yellowish underside and supercilium. Features slim dark legs, a largely pale lower mandible, and a grayish wing panel. Lacks a wing bar.
Identification
Distinguished from similar species by clear yellowish undersides and the absence of a wing bar.
Distribution & Habitat
Found in Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, and Thailand. Three subspecies are recognized: P. a. affinis in the east Himalayas from Nepal to southeast Tibet; P. a. perflavus in the west Himalayas from Pakistan to north India; and P. a. occisinensis in west-central China.
Behavior & Ecology
An active bird that moves acrobatically from branch to branch, exploring the underside of leaves and twigs. Breeds from May to August among rocks and low bushes in barren mountains, constructing nests from dry grasses and plant fibers.
