Introduction

A parrotbill in the family Paradoxornithidae. Found in eastern Asia from the eastern Himalayas to Indochina. Inhabits subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. Was formerly considered conspecific with the white-breasted parrotbill. Historically placed in Timaliidae or Sylviidae before the distinct family Paradoxornithidae was recognized.

Distribution & Habitat

Occurs in eastern Asia from the eastern Himalayas through Southeast Asia to Indochina. Inhabits subtropical and tropical moist lowland forests as well as subtropical and tropical moist montane forests.
