Introduction

A bird species in the family Leiothrichidae, found in temperate forests of central China, far northern India, and Myanmar. Previously placed in the genus Garrulax, it was moved to the genus Ianthocincla following a 2018 molecular phylogenetic study.

Distribution & Habitat

Found in central China, far northern India, and Myanmar. Natural habitat is temperate forests.

Behavior & Ecology

Both parents incubate the clutch for a period of 2 weeks. Vocalizations are described as sweet, melodious, and bold.
