Introduction

A passerine bird in the family Paradoxornithidae (Old World babblers). Previously classified in the genera Alcippe (Timaliidae) or Sylviidae before phylogenetic revisions. Endemic to Laos and Vietnam. Inhabits temperate forests. Was formerly treated as a subspecies of the spectacled fulvetta (F. ruficapilla) before being recognized as a distinct species.

Distribution & Habitat

Restricted range in mainland Southeast Asia, occurring in Laos and Vietnam. Occupies temperate forest habitats within this limited geographic area.
