Introduction
A species in the Old World flycatcher family Muscicapidae. It inhabits subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests across South and Southeast Asia.
Distribution & Habitat
Found in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. Fourteen subspecies are recognized with ranges including: F. h. hyperythra (central Himalayas to central south China, north, central Indochina, north Thailand, and Myanmar); F. h. annamensis (central south Vietnam); F. h. innexa (Taiwan); F. h. sumatrana (montane Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, and north Borneo); F. h. mjobergi (montane northwest Borneo); F. h. vulcani (montane Java, Bali, Lombok, Sumbawa, and Flores); F. h. clarae (montane Timor and Wetar); F. h. audacis (Babar Islands); F. h. annalisa (montane north Sulawesi); F. h. jugosae (montane central, southeast, and south Sulawesi); F. h. betinabiru (Taliabu); F. h. negroides (Seram); F. h. pallidipectus (Bacan Islands); and F. h. alifura (Buru). F. h. daggayana occurs in Daggayan and Civoleg, Gingoog City.
