Introduction

A true finch species (family Fringillidae) found on the Himalayan Plateau. Its natural habitat is boreal shrubland.

Distribution & Habitat

Found on the Himalayan Plateau in boreal shrubland. Two subspecies are recognised: C. r. rubicilloides ranges from eastern Tibet to central and southern China, and C. r. lucifer is found in southern Tibet and the Himalayas.
