dry foothills and plateaus of southeastern Türkiye, northern Syria, and (locally) northern Saudi Arabia to southern Armenia, Uzbekistan, southeastern Turkmenistan, southern Tajikistan southward through Iran and Afghanistan (except northeastern), to sub-Himalayan Pakistan
