简介
银胸阔嘴鸟是阔嘴鸟科（Eurylaimidae）Serilophus属的鸟类，分布于东南亚部分地区。该科共有两个物种，另一个物种灰眉阔嘴鸟（grey-lored broadbill）曾被归为该种的亚种。栖息于亚热带或热带低地湿润森林和山地湿润森林。种群数量因栖息地丧失而有所下降，但未被列入受威胁物种。
形态特征
中等体型，体长16-17厘米，体重25-35克。头部锈色，额灰白色，有宽阔黑色眉纹。胸部和腹部白色，腰和上翼覆羽亮红褐色，飞羽蓝色和黑色相间，尾黑色。雌鸟胸部具窄银色横带。幼鸟翅尾较短，整体羽色稍深。各亚种间存在变异。
如何辨识
具有亮蓝色飞羽和锈色腰部的特征。雌鸟胸部具独特银色横带是与近似种的主要区别。
分布与栖息地
分布于柬埔寨、中国、印尼、老挝、马来西亚、缅甸、尼泊尔、泰国和越南。栖息于热带和半热带森林、半落叶林以及以松树、橡树和竹林为主的森林，可见于选择性砍伐的森林甚至农田。海拔分布因地区而异：苏门答腊800-2000米，中国300-700米。
习性与生态
主食昆虫，包括蚱蜢、螳螂、毛虫、幼虫及小型陆生蜗牛。通过从栖木上飞捕或啄取树枝和树叶上的昆虫取食。
生存状况
因栖息地丧失导致种群有所下降，但IUCN未将其列入受威胁物种。
