简介
旧大陆苇莺科鸟类，属Helopsaltes。繁殖于古北区东部，从阿尔泰山脉、蒙古、外贝加尔地区至中国东北、朝鲜半岛及鄂霍次克海岛屿（库页岛、千岛群岛）。冬季迁至印度以东至印度尼西亚，斯里兰卡为稀有旅鸟。栖息于靠近水域的沼泽或湿草甸的高草丛中。性极隐蔽，繁殖期善鸣唱。
形态特征
中型苇莺。成鸟背部具褐色条纹，下体灰白色，除尾下覆羽外无斑纹。两性相似，幼鸟下体偏黄。尾羽及三级飞羽具白色端斑，腰部为暖褐色。
如何辨识
与常见草莺极为相似，但体型略大，尾羽和三级飞羽具白色端斑，腰部暖褐色更深。白色端斑是其野外辨识的关键特征。
分布与栖息地
繁殖于古北区东部，包括阿尔泰山、蒙古、外贝加尔、中国东北、朝鲜半岛及库页岛、千岛群岛。冬季迁往印度至印度尼西亚。斯里兰卡为稀有旅鸟，西欧极少出现，设兰岛相对较易记录。
习性与生态
性极隐匿，善在草丛和低矮灌丛中穿行，，除非鸣唱时否则难以发现。繁殖期在地上草丛中筑巢，每窝产4-7枚卵。主要以昆虫为食。鸣唱旋律丰富，不同于常见草莺的机械卷舌音，更似苇莺属的曲调。
文化
以德国动物学家彼得·西蒙·帕拉斯命名。种名certhiola源自拉丁语Certhia（旋木雀属）的指小形式，暗示其与该类群在形态或行为上的相似性。因尾羽白色端斑俗称'PG Tips'。
