Introduction

Species of bird in the family Turdidae. Breeds in western Himalayas and central/southwestern China; winters in Eastern Himalaya and northern Southeast Asia. Natural habitat is temperate forests. Socially monogamous breeding system with common extra-pair copulations. Exhibits sexual dichromatism where males and females have different plumage colors, though this difference is typically not noticeable to human observers.
