Introduction
A species of bird in the crow and jay family Corvidae. Monotypic within the genus Temnurus. Also known as the notch-tailed treepie. Has a disjunct distribution across Southeast Asia and China, with four separate populations: southern Thailand, southern Vietnam, central and northern Vietnam with Laos, and Hainan Island in China. Inhabits tropical moist broadleaf evergreen lowland forests, as well as secondary forest and scrubland.
Distribution & Habitat
Restricted to Southeast Asia and China with a disjunct distribution comprising four distinct populations: one in southern Thailand, one in southern Vietnam, one spanning central and northern Vietnam and Laos, and one on Hainan Island. Occupies tropical moist broadleaf evergreen lowland forests and also utilizes secondary forest and scrubland habitats.
