Introduction

Species of bird in the Old World babbler family (Timaliidae). Found in Northeast India, specifically Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and nearby areas. Inhabits subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. Named after the Cachar Hills in southern Assam. Currently becoming rare due to habitat loss.

Conservation

Population is declining and the species is becoming rare due to habitat loss from deforestation.
