Introduction
A bird species in the nuthatch family Sittidae. Found across Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Inhabits subtropical or tropical dry forests, moist lowland forests, and moist montane forests. This species was taxonomically distinguished as separate from the chestnut-bellied nuthatch by Rasmussen and Anderton in 2005.

Occurs in Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Inhabits subtropical and tropical dry forests, moist lowland forests, and moist montane forests throughout its range.
