Introduction
A small passerine bird in the swallow family. Found in open habitats such as farmland, grassland and savannah, typically near water. Range extends from Tajikistan and Afghanistan through the Indian subcontinent to southern China, Taiwan, and the northern Philippines. Formerly classified as a subspecies of the plain martin, now renamed the brown-throated martin.
Distribution & Habitat
Distributed across Central Asia from Tajikistan and Afghanistan, through the Indian subcontinent, to southern China, Taiwan, and the northern Philippines. Inhabits open country including farmland, grassland and savannah, usually occurring near water sources such as rivers, lakes and wetlands.
