Introduction

Passerine bird in the bulbul family native to Southeast Asia. Range extends from Thailand and northern and central Malay Peninsula through southern Indochina. Inhabits subtropical and tropical moist lowland forests. Originally classified in genus Criniger; until 2016 was considered conspecific with the Ayeyarwady bulbul under the name Pycnonotus blanfordi. Diet consists primarily of fruit.

Distribution & Habitat

Found in Thailand, northern and central Malay Peninsula, and southern Indochina. Inhabits subtropical and tropical moist lowland forest habitats.

Behavior & Ecology

Primarily frugivorous, feeding mainly on fruit.
