Introduction

A bird in the family Megalaimidae, endemic to southern China. Inhabits subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. Was formerly considered a subspecies of the black-browed barbet (Psilopogon oorti). Currently threatened by habitat loss.

Distribution & Habitat

Endemic to southern China. Inhabits subtropical and tropical moist forests, both lowland and montane zones.
