Introduction

A bird species in the family Timaliidae. Found across Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, and Vietnam. Inhabits subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. Exhibits social behavior by forming mixed flocks with other bird species. The former Taiwan subspecies musicus is now classified as a separate species, the Taiwan scimitar babbler.

Distribution & Habitat

Occurs in Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, and Vietnam. Inhabits subtropical or tropical moist montane forest habitats.

Behavior & Ecology

Social behavior includes forming mixed flocks with other bird species.
