Distribution & Habitat

This species breeds in central and eastern China, including provinces such as Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hunan, Jiangxi, and Zhejiang. During the winter months, it migrates southward to the Indochinese region, occurring in Laos, Thailand, and Cambodia. Its preferred habitats include temperate forests at higher elevations and subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests. The species appears to prefer forested environments with dense vegetation, though specific microhabitat preferences within these forest types are not well documented.
