Introduction

A passerine bird in the tit family Paridae. Formerly placed in the genus Parus, it was sometimes considered conspecific with the rufous-vented tit. Inhabits the western Himalayas across parts of India, China, Pakistan, Turkestan, Kyrgyzstan, and Afghanistan. The species is widespread and common throughout its extensive range.
