Introduction

The yellow-vented flowerpecker (Pachyglossa chrysorrhea) is a species of bird in the family Dicaeidae. It is found across South and Southeast Asia including Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and subtropical or tropical moist montane forest. A distinctive characteristic is its elongated outermost primary feathers, which differs from the vestigial outermost primary feathers found in most other species.

Distribution & Habitat

The species occurs across South and Southeast Asia from Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Nepal through mainland Southeast Asia to the Malay Peninsula and islands including Sumatra, Borneo, and Java. It inhabits subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.
