Introduction
A passerine bird in the family Pellorneidae, described as new to science in 2005. Endemic to far northern Myanmar, where it inhabits temperate rainforest on steep, sub-Himalayan hillsides. Discovered in February 2004 near the village of Naung Mung. Sometimes considered conspecific with the short-tailed scimitar babbler. Believed to be fairly common within its restricted range.
Distribution & Habitat
Endemic to far northern Myanmar. Inhabits temperate rainforest in steep, sub-Himalayan hillsides. Known from the vicinity of Naung Mung village.
