Introduction

Small passerine bird in the family Muscicapidae. Native to the Himalayas and Southeast Asia. Inhabits subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. Scientific name Ficedula westermanni, described by R.B. Sharpe in 1888 based on a specimen collected by Leonard Ray in Malaysia. Named after Gerardus Frederik Westerman.

Distribution & Habitat

Range extends throughout the Himalayas and Southeast Asia region. Inhabits subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. Has been recorded at locations including Dulung Reserve Forest in Lakhimpur, Assam.
