Distribution & Habitat

This species breeds in eastern Manchuria and the Russian Far East, migrating south to winter in central and southern China. It is considered accidental or vagrant in Japan, Korea, Laos, Myanmar, Russia (beyond the Far East), Mongolia, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, and north-eastern India. Its natural habitat consists of boreal forests.
