Introduction

A finch species in the family Fringillidae. It represents a recent addition to the avifauna of India. First discovered in Arunachal Pradesh by scientists from the Bombay Natural History Society, this finding expanded the Indian bird species count to 1,340. It belongs to the rosefinch group and inhabits high-elevation Asian bird communities.

Distribution & Habitat

Found in central China and far northeastern India. Its natural habitat consists of temperate forests.
