coastal and riverine Neotropics from coastal Sinaloa and southern Tamaulipas (but not Yucatan Peninsula; Mexico), coastal Central America, inland around Lake Nicaragua and Panama Canal zone; northern Colombia and Venezuela including islands north of Venezuela, Trinidad, north-central Chile and central Argentina
