Distribution & Habitat
Found throughout Southeast Asia including Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. Inhabits subtropical and tropical moist lowland forests as well as subtropical and tropical moist montane forests.
Culture
The species' saliva is one of the primary sources of edible nests used to make bird's nest soup, a delicacy in Chinese cuisine that has been harvested for centuries.
