Introduction

This small passerine bird belongs to the Acrocephalidae family of marsh-warblers. Formerly classified among the Old World warblers (Sylviidae), it inhabits wetland and grassland habitats. It breeds in parts of South and Central Asia and migrates to southeastern regions for the winter months.

Distribution & Habitat

This species breeds in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Northeast India, and China. During the winter migration, it travels to Myanmar, Thailand, and Bangladesh. The specific breeding and wintering habitats within these regions are characteristic of marsh-warbler environments, typically involving wetlands, reedbeds, and tall grasslands.
